Reflection:
Hello Sir Gamboa Good day. This blog intended to show what i understand about the subject matter which i am going to write and I want to share my own reflection about the subject or course description which is "Management Information System. First i need to define what is Management?
Management can also refer to the person or people who perform the act(s) of management, it implies that someone or somebody needs to be manage,in all business and human organization activity is simply the act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives.
then the next thing to define is what is Infomation System? Information System is one of the component of Management Information System which is most loosely used in management in literature. It is a system of group of interrelated components working together towards a common goal by accepting inputs and producing outputs in an organized transformation process. In this system there are three basic components or functions are involved these are 1.)Input- it involves capturing and assembling elements that enter the system to be processed. Whatever the date after collection to enter into computing system for further processing it is input example of it are Raw Materials, Energy, Data and Human Efforts must be secured and organized for further processing. 2.)Processing and 3.)Output.
Management Information System is a subset of the overall internal controls of a business covering the application of people,documents,technologies and procedures by management accountants to solving business problems like costing a product. So when we say Management Information System it is refer of retrieving data and a group of Information Management methods tied to the support of human decision making. The word Management tells that the decision is made by people who act(s) as a manager where a management comprises Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Leading, Directing, and Controlling an organization which it is a group of one or more people or entities or purpose of accomplishing a goal.
A Management Information System is a planned System of the Collecting ,processing,storing and disseminating data in the form of information needed to carry out the functions of management. In a way it is a documented report of the activities those were planned and executed. According to Philip Kotler"A Marketing Information system consists of of people, equipment, and procedures to gather, sort, analyze,evaluate and distribute needed,timely and accurate information to marketing decision makers." The field of MIS can deliver a great many benefits to enterprises in every industry. Experts organizations such as the Institute of MIS quarterly continue to find and report new ways to use MIS to achieve business objectives.The MIS are Information Systems typically computer based, that are used within an organization. Wordnet described an information system as a system consisting of the network of all communication channels within used within an organization...components that collect, manipulate, and disseminate data or information.Therefore Better MIS system enable an enterprise to react more quickly to their environment, enabling them to push out ahead of the competition and produce a better service and a larger piece of pie.
